More than one pair of the same shoe?

I've probably talked about my obsession with these shoes before, but I have to know. Do you think that owning the exact same pair of shoe in different colors is weird? I mean they are comfy, and I do like them. Is that wrong? Should I just go for another style? I stopped at three. But I remember having to literally stop myself from getting the black ones in patent leather, remember?

So what do you think?

No literally, this is what I've changed in the good 'ole blog so far.

New banner

New "about me"

In my 20s. In love. Puerto Rican. Moved 3,000 miles away from home. Lived in LA with my boyfriend. Came back for school. Still in love. Making it work long distance style. Major shoe obsession. Love writing randomly on notebooks. Obsessed with making lists. Only child. Capricorn. Learning Italian. Discovered a passion in blogging. Can’t live without a calendar. Coffee addict.

I think those are the biggest changes so far. Well, blog related anyway. I also changed the layout to make it wider. I moved the elements around. I too closed my "shop". I realized that I had no time to take pictures and post them and all that. However, I'm forever thankful to those of you who supported me with my mini project. With the move, I gave away hundreds of dollars worth of clothes, shoes and accessories. I wanted to sell them, but seriously NO TIME. I liked that button so much, that I changed it to Ambar's Thoughts. So basically, now I have two. You get to select your fave. Speaking of buttons, I know there's a few that I have yet to add, I haven't forgotten, and also a couple of awards that I won, and haven't even thanked the bloggers for. All of that is coming.

I really want to keep doing "What am I wearing" posts but due to lack of a photographer :( well... I dunno if I'ma be able to do it. Maybe I can convince my dad?? LOL We'll see.

Regardless, I have big plans, and a full agenda people. So get ready!!!

I'm Here...

This is a long, overdue post, and a very hard one to write, actually. But I'm here, in Puerto Rico, home.

I took an unplanned, blogging vacation and I'm really sorry for not letting anyone know, but like I said it was unplanned. It sort of just happened. I suddenly only had a few weeks left in LA to pack, do a million errands and most importantly spend precious time with my honey.

I wish I could express how I feel, but basically it's as if I were hot and cold at the same time. I've never had such mixed feelings about anything in my life. I'm happy to be home and see my family but OMG so sad ~~borderline depressed~~ that I'm not with my boyfriend and that twe're 3,000 miles apart.

The question in everyone's mind must be WHY? And the answer is ... I made the decision of going back to school. Hardest decision that I've made so far, but I stick to it. I want to say that I left a piece of my heart in LA, but I would be lying I left my heart there. The whole thing.

Enough of that, or I'm gonna turn into a big ball of tears. Good news is that I'm here, I have internet YAY!!! And I'm blogging.

Before leaving, I had made some changes and tweaks here and there on the blog and I'll talk a bit about that on another post.

Expect full-on blogging from June on.

PS: From my last post, you guys were right. I got extensions, thanks for all the compliments. Wait till you see my new look.

I know I've been horrible. Not one single word in what feels like a LIFETIME!!! But I'm going through some stuff... nothing bad, but BIG. So meanwhile I can't even blog. First cause umm I don't have internet at the place that I'm currently living and second, cause well I can't quite figure out how to start. So many feelings and emotions..etc.

I definitely HATE IT! It's always been a huge pet peeve of mine. No matter how hot the guy is, he's gotta have his toes covered up. And it's not that I'm grossed out by men's feet, I know some women are. I just hate the look. I think they're only appropriate for the beach/pool. What do YOU think?

Seriously!!! I love all of these!!!!!! Specially that last one with my Marylin and my fave colors and the cheap price... LOOOVE.

Out of all the bathing suits, one-piece or two that I posted, my fave ones were color blue, so I guess the black cover up will match both or that crocheted one... that one is fantastic. Ok, so I JUST decided that I need 2 cover ups. The crocheted one for my bikini and the black tunic for my one piece and the Marylin one just cause, and that makes 3 but shutup.

OMGGG how I loved this outfit. LOVEDDD IT!!!! Super comfy and easy to work in [important]. The honey suggested I played a little with the umbrella, he was having more fun than I was. TRUST me.. LOL. The skirt can also be worn as a dress, so I might try that soon. I love the nude tone. I might give it a shot with a lighter top to make it more springy. Well, that's it for now guys, ciao!

Adventures of my Day Off

As you read earlier, today is/was [whatever] my day off. Why the excitement, you ask. Because is MY ONLY ONE. Yupp, I'm a slave, naww kidding, but due to some work issues, I've been doing overtime and getting only one, tiny, cutsie little day off a week. I love my job so I don't mind, but then again.. dayuuummmm I'm tired and my feet are beyond saving point. I lost the balls of my feet. Say goodbye to them [for those of you new around here, I work on heels].

Despite all of this, on my days off, I get to do a routine which usually consists of going to Ralph's, Kmart, Walgreens, Bank of America, etc. Last week, on my day off, I decided to be a rebel and went shopping far away. I drove 2hrs, and just went into 3 stores, bought about 5 items, and drove 2hrs back. Today, I couldn't ignore the routine. The honey was good enough to go to Ralph's and Kmart during the weekend, while I was working, so basically I just needed to go to Walgreens and JCP to grab a new Photo Finish Foundation Primer, which I talked about here.

While being in JCP, I decided to get some bras, to replace some other ones, and that's when I saw them!

Eryn II clutch

Now, is it just me, or are these the cutest spring purses EVER?? Some of them, like the Eryn clutch, can even be used in the Fall season, despite the flowers. I'm not a very girly-girl, or that's what I like to think jiji but I'm in love with all of these, especially the regal rose purse in travertine. I want it soooo bad. The first 3 styles are from Ruche, the last one from Bakers. All of them for under $55.

Product Review - Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion

This review is a bit overdue, but I wanted to make sure that I had a thorough sense of the product, before even mentioning it to you guys. So as I type this, I no longer have my Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion because I ran out. Yes, I've been constantly using it to the point where it no longer exists. Read on...

Pricing $18 for a 4 oz. bottle

Even though this one was a courtesy of the company, I think the price is just right. I mean I usually pay around $20 for my body butter, so $18 is not so bad.

Appearance/Packaging

If you're like me, and buy stuff because it's pretty, then you will probably never own this. It's not a cute bottle, let alone catchy, and if you carry your lotion around [like moi] it's not something that I would be proud to flaunt around. The bottle was a nice size though, so it fit on my purse easily.

Texture/Fragrance

If there was one thing I loved about this product, was it's texture. It's almost addicting. It's very thin, and the skin absorbs it in NO TIME! I seriously loved that. Also, since I'm an allergic freak, I was hesitant to try it at first, but it has no fragrance, and it's non-comedogenic and hypoallergenic.

The fact that it was fragrance free, intrigued me. I've always used lotions with a scent. However, I've noticed that I put on perfume, then a few minutes later I put on whatever lotion I have on my purse, and they're NEVER the same scent. So basically, either the perfume scent gets lost, or I just smell like a bunch of different things. With this lotion, I didn't have that problem.

Performance/Effectiveness

Note: You can use the product on your hands, body and face, I only tried it on my hands.

Like I mentioned earlier, I used the whole 4 oz. of this little product, but I have mixed feelings about it. When I put it on, my skin felt great. It was silky smooth, and my skin actually felt fresh. However, after a while they would get dry, and when I say dry I mean DRY. Something that I had never seen before, they started to get ashy, and white-looking, which is weird, because well, I was using lotion. This only made me put more on, which is probably the reason of why I went trough the whole bottle.

Would I recommend this product?

Yes, especially if you have allergy problems, this one didn't cause any reactions on my skin.

This is it. This was Valentine's Day!!!

Let me just say this first. THE HONEY WAS AMAZING!!! Are you reading this hun??? You were awesome. You got me a purrrfect gift, and chocolates, and dinner, and took me out. You were just the best!!!!

Saturday when I returned home from work.. you know with the horrendous cramps and whatnot there was a gift on top of the bed. Just for me, and just what I wanted. Awww.

In case you haven't noticed yet. A dress from Forever 21 and a pair of shoes from Bakers is the way to go. I made the mistake of going in the Forever 21 Mega Store to find a dress for Valentine's Day and ended up with waaaay more than one outfit. Thankfully I can wear all of them for work. Wheeww! A lady's gotta justify sales. Done and done.

I loved the color of this dress, and the simple, yet sophisticated look to it. It's kinda tricky to wear a bra, so I guess it's just for us ladies who have NO boobs. The honey loooved the length of it, as being that I'm tall, normal short dresses look extra short on me. NOT.MY.FAULT. We went to a little Italian restaurant and it was all perfect. Love you dear.

Valentine's Weekend- Day 2

The dress was very wrinkly, so I was hesitant about pics, but honestly... how do you even iron a thing like this??? I mean it's bubble shaped!

Anywhoddle, you see that first pic up there? That's me having the worst cramps in the history of cramps. I had work that day [hence the outfit, and me being vertical] and thank God it was only for like 5 hours. I remember saying things like: "I just want to sit on a corner and die", "someone just shoot me on the face...NOW!"

Despite all that shizzle, I had a romantic bfast with the honey that day. We went to IHOP. It's turned out to be like our little tradition, either that or we just like to go every.single.weekend to stuff our faces, LITERALLY!

Valentine's Weekend - Day 1

Before we hit Christmas again, here are the pics of my Valentine's Weekend. This was Friday Feb 12. We went out dancing/drinking. I let the lady who cut my ends play a little with my hair. I don't necessarily love it, but I don't hate it. I also got a mani/pedi and had my eyebrows done. Woohoo me!

I love those shoes!!!! They're extremely comfortable and just plain dreamy. I always get compliments on them. Ohhh and speaking of compliments that day as soon as we walked into bar #1, this lady came up to me behind my back and poked me. I turned around and she said "Excuse me, I'm sorry, I came from across the room to tell you that you look amazing" "You're beautiful, I love your dress". I just mumbled thanks, and when I turned... the honey's face was just PRICELESS!! We left after I chugged my sangria.

I did my makeup this day, and loved it!!! I kinda can't believe I did it. Don't worry I'll be blogging all about that soon!

Or the Oscars. However you wanna call them. So, let's get down to business, you know how it goes, my fave ones first [as in the first post]. Here they are in no particular order....maybe.

I couldn't even recognize her. She looked so glamorous, I think her red nails and the big, wavy hair made the perfect final touch.

WOW! This dress is fabulous, she actually looks like a lady. I would have worn some statement earrings or a necklace, instead of just a bracelet. Because her upper half seems kinda naked, but she still looks good.

I don't understand the hate towards this dress. I like it and I think it suits her body shape. I don't know about her hair though.

If that thing around your neck is a scarf, please throw it away immediately. Regardless, I loved the dress. It has a different shape, but it's still elegant, specially because of the light color. I don't know what's going on with those shoes, they seem to have a platform and that's a NO-NO for dressy events. Oh, and her bracelets too.

Miley Cyrus in Jenny Packman.

UGH, I sorta hate myself for even having her picture on my blog. Clearly, I'm not a fan of hers, but this dress ZOMG! She even looks classy. I loved it, I think is one of my favorites but SHHH!!! Don't tell on me. Her hair and accesories are right on, if only she would've had better posture.

Last week I didn't post my Saturday Images, despite having done the post. And this week, I really don't feel like using those pics anymore. Why? Well because I don't feel like that anymore.

Lately I've been really aching to go home. I need to feel the warm air, the sun rays heating me up, the sand below my feet and the smell of the beach. I need to be home. I need to stare at the ocean. Those of you who follow me on twitter, might have seen my tweet about this already. Well... it's still on my mind.

Location: Playa Sucia, Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico.

I'm sorry for my very untoned body, but frankly, at this point I don't care. All of these were taken last year during our trip to Puerto Rico.This is one of my favorite beaches, EVER! It's just breathtaking being there.

Product Review - Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows

What a perfect day to post this review, huh? Today comes out the much anticipated Tim Burton's remake of Alice in Wonderland, featuring Johnny Depp.

Well, as I had mentioned before [here] when I splurged on ~~a lot of~~ makeup at Sephora, I was going to be reviewing them. Here's my review of the Book of Shadows.

Pricing - $52

I actually think it's a good price for 16 eye shadows [supposedly their top sellers], one eye shadow primer, 2 eye liners and the fact that is special edition.

Appearance/Packaging

That's exactly what made me buy it. I'm a sucker for pretty things. And it's pop-up art of Alice in "Wonderland" is amazing. The names given to the eye shadows also caught my attention. In particular "Drink me, Eat me" I mean who doesn't want an eye shadow by that name? Only bad thing is that you can't take your eye shadow with you to retouch, unless you have a really big ~~makeup~~ bag.

Performance/Effectiveness

Here's where the weight of the whole review lies, it's effectiveness, and I must say I love it. The eye shadow primer potion is amazing and so is the black eye liner pencil. Not to mention the lovely things you can do with those colors.

The eye shadow primer potion glides in smoothly without leaving your eyelids all cakey. I have used eye shadow primer in the past and hated the whole idea of it, until I tried this one. It also evens out your skin tone in that area, making it perfect for day looks with just a simple color or glamorous night makeup.

Here I'm wearing 3 of the eye shadows that come in the palette. I used Curioser for the main lid area, Underland for the outer corner and White Rabbit for the brow bone. It sort of looks like I'm wearing 4 different colors, but it's just those 3 blended in. I'm also wearing the eyeshadow primer potion. I'm happy to say that this makeup looked exactly like this ALL NIGHT LONG! That's a winner on my book. I also learned, for next time, that I should apply the primer all the way up to my brow, since I will be applying eye shadow all the way over there, otherwise you get that weird strike mark that I'm pretty sure all of you can see [it makes the white color look different].


Hours later, returning home.

Would I recommend this product?

Definitely! Too bad is sold out everywhere [or so I heard].

Hey guys, it's me Ambar, some of you might remember me?

I know, I'm a drama queen. I have only been MIA for a few days, but to me it feels like FOREVER!!! I've been keeping myself busy doing things like going to the hospital [proof] due to a random "asthma attack" or something. Whatevs. I have also been working, even though I could barely breathe and was gasping for air every two steps. By the way, thanks to all of you lovely ladies [you] who wrote me e-mails showing support and care. Muchos besos!!!

Imagine! My weekends was so busy I didn't even have time for the Saturday Images post, bummer! Anywhoddle, I was ~~trying to~~ spending time with my honey bunny, since I suddenly found myself with a day off...on a weekend...while he was here.... AND IT WAS RAINING CATS AND DOGS! FML.

We were all "yea, let's go to Disneyland"... "oh yea", "check the weather cause it's claudy"... I go open the curtain and all of a sudden..it's hurricane George. I guess indoor activities for us it is.

We did a little of good ol' tourism around the LA area, froze our butts, [specially me, I was fah-ree-ZING!] took some pics, etc.

But back to the whole point of this post... it has been DULY NOTED that you guys want to see the brands I'm wearing. I was so shocked to see that people even noticed. I thought about it, and decided against it, because honestly, the only new things I'm wearing is the boots and the purse [and I'm talking about this post here, just in case]. Everything else I've worn, posted and talked about already in the past. Regardless, I'm adding all that info on that post ASAP.

The only thing I remember from this day [these pics are from early January] is that I had a doctor's appointment right after work, so I went dressed like this. As soon as I walked in, the youngest woman there, was at least 30 yrs. older than me. LOL!!! Everyone was looking at me like WTF is she doing here?? They were also eyeing my "delicate" bag confusedly.

That was also the 1st time I wore those boots. I love them!!

Moo Mini Cards

This was probably one of the oldest drafts I had on my dashboard. Why? Cause I'm ~~lazy as eff~~ busy and hadn't had the time to take the pics. Remember when I asked you all if you guys had business cards for your blogs? Well this is the reason.

I bought my mini cards at www.moo.com right after I purchased my domain. And if you're looking to get business cards, this IS the place.

I know some of you might have gotten one of them along with my Christmas cards or my VDay cards or out on the street after a few compliments/questions or whatever. But that's all of 'em. They're just text mini cards because quite frankly I couldn't decide on any pictures. And also, because I want to save the pictures for the business cards. Difference? They're bigger and have more info on the back.

But the point of this whole post is to tell you how much I LOVE MOO!!! I can't even remember when/how I found them. But boy, I'm glad I did. A pack of 100 is only $19.99 and the service is just excellent!!! [Since I've been working on the customer service industry, I think this is rather important.] You have sooooooo many options to choose from that it's just unbelievable. They also offer postcards, note cards, business cards, etc. I definitely recommend them. I heart them x 1000.

This is so old, that Christmas presents were still under the tree! LOL. Regardless I still love the look. It's very similar to this one, however these leggings have sequins, and this gray top [from Forever 21] is fitting and says Tres Chic. Worn with the same badass shoes and the same leather jacket, obvi for work.

Sigh. It's past 3 am and I'm here. Enough said. I have to be at work in 6 hours. So probably I should just stay up. Ugh I hate this. Ambien anyone? On a happier note, I did a set on polyvore. It had been months since my last one. I really do love it there.

PS: The leggings are virtually impossible to wash. FAIL.

Today's Update!!!

So, I just finished catching up on your blogs, don't worry no award for me this time. I must say, I love reading blogs, and I love blogging, and the blogging community and the support... and I think I'm PMSing.

Anywhoddle, take today for example... I was there being sick, reading a post, minding my own business when all of a sudden I hear a cricket [my cellphone] and no, is not the honey, is not my male bestie, is spanky! This is so creepy because the post I was reading atm was hers. So she goes all hey bitch, or maybe it was just bitch. Whatever and since I'm PMSing all over I'm like hey baby darling sweetie pie wassup. And we kept talking for a LOOONG time, basically ~~she held my hand while I was sick~~ stayed with me until the pills kicked in. Awww.

Being that it was my day off I had ~~a lot~~ some errands to do, like going to Walgreens, KMart, post office, and the mall. EWW. It was raining and like I said I was sick [UTI symptoms] so NOT FUN. I did it though, put on my ~~pink~~ big girl panties and went out in the mini storm. I managed to do all of my errands including exchanging some clothes at F21. Have any of you been to the mega stores??? Men they're just TOO BIG. I was in there for hours [the 1st time] and there are sections I haven't seen yet!!!! Too big folks, too big.

I want to put up pics of what I bought, but since I may or may not have bought my VDay outfit, I can't. Because I want the honey to see it for the 1st time when I wear it, not on the blog, not that he reads my blog, but you get my point. Also, I need someone to go shopping with me. I'm gonna put an ad on the paper, swear. It's sooooo hard to decide between stuff all by yourself. Ugh, I actually bought 4 different outfits for one night. I will obvi wear just one, but since I can't decide. Oh well, thankfully I can wear them for work. Guess I'll be looking extra hot on the days to come.

Confession: I'm in Love With Big Rings

What am I wearing?

Top and scarf from ANGL, the only jeans I wear [fact], my Burberry watch that I got for my bday, and my Jessica Simpson patent leather pumps, which I looooooooove. I wore this to grab a quick dinner with the honey at Chilli's we were so hungry that we sat down, ordered and were pretty much done within 5 mins of that. I hadn't wore that scarf before but I definitely like it, it's very fun to play around with. And obviously I had to wear my new ring, and I just like it a lot more than I would've thought. The honey likes it too!! Big plus.

Good Morning People of the World

Here's today's story [so far]...

I got zero sleep.

I drove around 60 miles, all before 7 am.

Came back home and did some of this and...

...this. Simultaneously.

Now I have to go out and get me some

and then head out to get a

and a mani too cause I need them.

This is just my morning, trust me you don't want to know about my to do list for the rest of the day. The thing is that one of the store managers [we're 3] is on vacay, so I'm doing the same hours I was doing for the holidays and today is my ONLY day off. OK? Only day off until neeext week. So basically all of the errands/things that need to get done/things you want to do have to get done today. The same day I want to be in bed because well, I didn't sleep. Thankfully, when I don't sleep I'm more energetic that when I do. Until the sleepiness hits me and then I turn into a zombie. True story.

Tonight I start my giveaways for the week of Valentine's... YAY!!!!!!

Avatar...The Experience

I don't even know where to start. The story, the effects, the everything!! This movie WAS beyond amazing. Definitely exceeded expectations. It's perfect. I think it has something for adults, men, kids [by adults I mean women and by men, older kids]. It's romantic, yet still action packed. I loved it!!!!! It was definitely worth the $30+ that it cost to see it on Imax 3D and whatnot. The bond with nature, the respect, OMG. Their culture, fascinating. I also loved how she flew the thing [picture #4].

I'm not a fan of owning movies, but this one, I want it.

PS: I saw Up in the Air and it DOES NOT stand a chance against this one. I'm even surprised it got nominated for a Golden Globe. Speaking of, I can't wait for the Academy nominations to go public.

What was promised is my debt..

I know the GG's were literally ages ago [at least in the movie industry] but I just couldn't fathom to post this pictures due to their fugliness.

In no particular order:

Annna Kendrick in Marchesa. Ok, I'm not a big fan of her, but still this dress is UGLY. It looks like some old curtains paired with an antique wedding dress or something.

Christina Hendricks in Siriano. The dress is not too bad here, what I don't know what's worse is the color of her hair, the color of the dress or the color of her skin!

Diane Kruger in Christian Lacroix. Such beauty... wasted! I really hate it from head to toe, I still like her though.

Drew Barrymore in [Atelier] Versace. The dress is OK except for the Christmas wreaths hanging from it.

Julianne Moore in Balenciaga. Might as well have worn a snuggie.

Kristin Bell in Jasmine di Milo. This dress is not bad at ALL. It's just HORRIBLE for the occassion.

Leona Lewis wearing Roberto Cavalli. What's.with.all.the.wrinkles??????? It looks sloppy, better said it makes YOU look sloppy. F.

Maggie Gyllenhaal in [RM] Roland Mouret. WTF? I hate the fabric, not to mention the color.

Nicole Kidman wearing Nina Ricci. You can't even tell where her skin ends and the dress begins. And this one also looks like frikin old curtains. Again, such beauty... wasted!

And last but definitely not least...

Tina Fey in Zac Posen. Thank God she's funny otherwise I would cross her off my list. What.was.she.thinking????

WOW!! I bought this dress ages ago, and I wore it at least 3 different times before finally taking pictures with it on. Again, another outfit for work. On the pictures I'm wearing both heels and flat boots. Regardless, that dress was a great buy. I got compliments, crazies asking me where I got it, what size it is [can you believe that??] it's medium btw.

I paired it with my H n' M belt that I absolutely adore (I bought it on the same shopping trip), my MK watch that the honey got me, and all my studded bangles, which also looked great with the boots, because they have studs. Also, that brown and navy combination is perfect!!! I can't wait to mix more outfits like that.

PS: I think my hair was really dirty this day. EEW.

Even though I love the current design, [God knows I do], it's not unique, and that drives me a little crazy, so please, PLEAAAASSSEEE let me know of any blog designers that you know, or maybe somebody you've worked with before. I do realize that I need to pay for this, but the few sites I found that I liked are booked until like mid May.. WTFH?!?!?!?! I sorta need it now. My Birthday Part II

This is the second part to this story.

On the actual day of my birthday I woke up to this:

Yes I know they're just balloons, but like I said, the honey's not that type of guy. So this was the perfect beginning to the perfect day. PS: today, January 25th the balloons are still on that door. Talk about damn quality balloons!! LOL Ok, ok back to my bday. The honey had surprised me [he tends to do that] with reservations to a restaurant that we had passes a few times in downtown and that he knew I was dying to try.

He e-mailed me the reservation confirmation that they had sent him. This was on December 23rd during the day, which meant... 1) I started screaming at work... 2) I needed an outfit. Thankfully I didn't close (the store) that day because it would have meant no shopping for me. So being that I ~~hate~~ don't like shopping when it's crowded, and this was the day before Christmas Eve, I was a bit stressed. I ran down to the forever loyal, Forever 21, looked around, grabbed a dress, tried it on and $23 later I had my bday outfit.

I spent the day pampering myself, and by that I mean I went to get a pedi. LOL I needed it...badly! My feet hurt like crazy from the long hours at work, plus I was going to wear open toe shoes, which I hadn't done in forev, so I went there. I basically didn't do much for the rest of the day, not that I remember at least. I remember receiving one amazing gift, but I'll share those deets on another post.

I really didn't go all out with my outtie. I barely had any makeup on and my hair was just wet from the shower. I used some accessories that I had from a previous occasion [a formal ball] and my shoes were actually a birthday gift from when I turned 20. I love those shoes!!!!! Just wish they were a bit more comfy.

Here we are at the restaurant, the food was ah-ma-ZING!!!! The service, well not so much. We still had the best time EVER, I seriously love this guy, my birthday was AMAZING!! [Ok, for the people that don't know me or are new around here, I'm a big grumpy grinch, so he reached a milestone right there]. After returning home, I can't remember if we watched a movie or not, but rumor has it that I fell asleep singing this song...

So there you have it, my amazing, over.the.top, did.I.say.amazing birthday. Look for the next post on what happened on Christmas day...

My Birthday Part I

Almost a month after, but hey, I've been a busy girl. So this is the first part of my birthday, which was on Christmas Eve. Why first part?? Well, because my family has a tradition of celebrating birthdays, Christmas, and such things the day before, after 12:00 am. So it's technically the day of your birthday, but well, not yet. Understand?

So this was December 23 after midnight. I had work, the huns picked me up, and after we arrived home he suprised me wih this.

Now, don't get me wrong he's very romantic, but not your typical I-buy-you-flowers-and-chocolates-all-the-time type of guy. So to be surprised with this was already FRIKIN AWESOME, also cause I L O V E chocolate. As you can tell I had already eaten ~~most~~ some of it before I could stop to take a picture.

After all this amazingness, he let me open one present, from the three that belonged to me under the tree. Note: This is another family tradition. We put the the gifts under the tree as soon as they're ready. So basically, the tree has gifts under it for a month. And you walk by it 10 times a day without being able to open them = TORTURE. I chose the smaller box, well because it had bells on it.

Crappy, crappy pictures due to the ~~anxiety~~ excitement.

OMG!! I believe that at this point, I had tears in my eyes.

The watch is beyond beautiful. Very, very classy yet feminine and OMG awesome. I have the rest of my birthday story coming up next week, stay tuned...

Tutorial: How to Change Your Blogger Blog to a 3 Column Layout

You decided that you wanted a three column layout instead of a two column one. And here's how to do it. Disclaimer: I'm by no means an expert on the subject but I try to explain the easiest way possible.

Let's get to work... it's easier if you decide to do this early on your blog career? because that way you have less stuff on your HTML code [well hopefully anyways].

Your template should be Minima for this to work easier. If you need to change it here's how:

Go to your Dashboard and click on the Layout tab.

Now go the Pick New Template tab.

Choose Minima, it's usually the first one.

Save your template.

Now go to the Edit HTML tab.

Here's where the actual work begins, so pay close attention. You might want to use the find feature of your browser, you do this by hitting the keys Ctrl + F on your keyboard and you shall get a little search bar on your page. Something like this:

Mine is always located at the bottom, but it depends on what browser you use. What you need to find is this:

Copy the entire section and paste it directly below itself. Now we need to change the elements that I highlighted in deep purple.

I'm not liking the weather here in Long Beach!!! And not only the weather is crazy cold, but they have also closed all the lanes that I use. So now I have to use my GPS to get to work... me does not like this. Also, I HAVE A RUNNY NOSE thankyouverymuch. I give to you, rain...

I wished I looked like this, or at least I demand one of those umbrellas.

Have you ever kissed in the rain?? Like when it's pouring? I have! Amazing, just amazing.

Well, there you go loveys, happy pictures about something that def DOES not make me happy. That is so un-me. JA! I've been saying that a lot today. Anywhoz, I find it interesting that I do not own rain boots. You might be wondering why, since it usually doesn't rain in LA. And I wouldn't buy rain boots if I lived here, I mean what's the chance that you're gonna use them maybe 4 days of the year??? Wth.

However, in Puerto Rico, particularly in Mayaguez where I was born and raised NO ONE has rain boots. Just to quote some info I found about the city, it has "heavy rain from May to November" which is code for it rains EVERY.SINGLE.DAY at least once. Now, for the months of December- April it might just rain once every other day, and that is if you're lucky. And there we are walking around on sandals and stuff like that. I know no one wears boots in Puerto Rico cause that'd be ridic, but still...

A few days have passed. I've slept on it, and I still have no clue if I like these dresses or not. So I bring to you the meh pile...

Zoe Saldana in a Louis Vuitton dress. I like her, and I think the dress is ok from the waist up. But it has waaay too much going on in the bottom.

Olivia Wilde wearing Gucci. I actually like this dress, a lot. I just don't love it.

Fergie with an extremely boring Elie Saab gown. I don't like that color on her. Second, it's too plain, too boring, too BLAH! And her hair and makeup are amazing...for a day on the beach, or maybe even shopping. It's not a bad look, and it's not a bad dress, it was just on the wrong person on the wrong day.

Jennifer Aniston aka the MOTHER of all things boring on this planet wearing a Valentino dress. Dear Jen, I have nothing against you, really. I laugh at your movies, and Friends will always be one of my fave TV shows EVER!!! But Jesus girl, stop being so boring!!!! Oh and I think you're a bit TOO old for that slit on your dress. It's a bit inappropriate despite the fact that you DO have the body to pull it off.

Sigourney Weaver in an emerald green gown. I love everything about it, specially the color [that was the color of my prom dress]. PERFECTION here, just not Perfection plus Amazingness [lol, those are my fave, FAVE ones on this post.]

I have NO clue who she is, goes by the name of Alicja Bachleda and I LOVE her dress!!!! I think she should've pulled it up a lil' bit, but it's so flattering on her.... sigh

Some Thoughts and a GIVEAWAY!!!!

First things first. Did you guys read my guest post at Jules' blog??? Cool, you rock...

So lately, I've been feeling very homesy. You know, instead of wanting to spend my money on clothes/shoes/accessories [which I ALWAYS want], I find myself looking at furniture and home decor, and kitchens, and recipes, etc... But as it turns out the honey doesn't like antique-looking furniture [I'm still trying to get over this fact, someone please hug me], he likes modern stuff. Like these super cool stools here. They even have a direct link for modern looking ones. Sigh.

That's basically all that has been on my mind lately. That, and the fact that I really want cobalt blue heels, but enough about me, and onto the giveaway...

Ambar's Thoughts Covers The Golden Globes

The 67th annual Golden Globes that is. And no I was not there. When I say cover I mean look at the pictures and criticize. I'm tired, so let's just talk about the best dressed people of the night and leave the WORST.OMG.How.could.they dressed people for another post.

Now, everybody knows I DO NOT WATCH TV. Except, obviously for events like this one. [And the VS fashion show, DUH!] Now, in no particular order here are my favorite dresses.

Jane Krakowski in this purple piece by J. Mendel. I loved it. Loved the color, the style, the elegance. The one shoulder. This was all perfect for me.

Julie Bowen. Maybe I'm drawn to black, but this lovely piece by Georges Hobeika stole my heart. I loved how she wore her hair up and added statement earrings. I think it was the perfect compliment to the bare shoulders.

Kate Hudson in Marchesa. I love the dress, love the color, love her simple, light makeup, love her nail color, love the earrings, but most definitely, HATE the shoes. I think she looked fantastic, like always, but OMG closed pumps??? REALLY?

Cameron Diaz in Alexander McQueen. Hi Cameron, can you be my best friend? Ok thanks. Adorable. She paired her gorgeous, red gown with equally gorgeous, red lips. Her hair was up, which was very convenient weather wise, but also looked great.

Jennifer Westfeldt in a very classy, strapless, black and white gown. Ok, is it me or does everybody wanna get married in that dress? No? Just me? Ok, no problem. Yes, I loved it THAT much. I think it is the perfect mix between appealing and delicate.

Lisa Edelstein. Simple yet elegant, which made her a best dressed in my list. I would have done something different with the hair, but then again it WAS raining cats and dogs here.

Chloe Sevigny in Valentino. This dressed had me confused for a sec there. It looked OK, until I saw her move in it.The way it flows and moves along with you. I fell in love. I still don't love the color, but the style won me over.

I think that's gonna be it for now. I have some few dresses that I'm still not sure if they're good or bad, they're just in the meh pile. So, did you like these styles? Which one was your favorite? I can't wait to post about the worst dressed.

Remember my last Saturday Images post, it was all about recipes and food and yummy yummy stuff. Well, what a better match to that than lovely kitchens? First, I want to thank all of you who left me your recipes, or gave me some serious advise as to where to go to get them. I already bought a pretty, pretty journal to write all of my new recipes on it. Hopefully, I'll be able to try them all. Now all I need is a pretty kitchen like one of these...

I Feel Happy in 2010

That doesn't mean I wasn't happy in 2009. I'm just really, REALLY happy. There's still some things missing in my life, like family and friends. You know, is just me and the huns here. But I feel like I can't stop smiling and I love that.

I don't make New Year's Resolutions, or at least I didn't this year. But I knew in my head what I wanted, and that was happiness. I want to accomplish some other things, obviously, but I feel like writing them on paper is not precisely what's gonna make them happen.

So there you have it, one of my top goals for 2010, is to be really, really happy!!! I think I've started to accomplish that already. How about you, do you put your own happiness as a priority? Are you happy?

Also... A Few New Things Around Here

Now that I ~~am not working like a slave~~ have some time on my hands, I've gone back to the good 'ol days of being ~~obsessed~~ committed to blogging. Don't get me wrong, this is what I love 'yo. So because I've been "working" here again. I've added a few things, removed some others, and I'm here to let you know all about it.

First things first, I finally deciphered how to use feedburner, WHEW! It feels good. So basically now you can subscribe to my blog via e-mail. YAY!

Thanks to those of you, who answered to my demented tweets while I was learning/figuring it out. Besides that, I finally got to post my blog button. Feel free to grab it, I know some of you already have [and you are awesome]. What I want to do is look around for everyone's buttons and add them to a different page, sort of like a tab [that I will create] for buttons. But meanwhile I will have them up here in the main page. So hit me up if you wanna exchange ~~botones~~ buttons.

And another great milestone that I achieved today [I'm a bit on the dramatic side, huh?] was creating my own favicon. What's that? Well it's the little heart you now see besides the name of the blog on your browser.

Seriously, I felt so accomplished. I've been wanting one ever since I saw it on her blog and learned that bloggers could have that too. I found out what it was called and how to do it and is as easy as 1-2-3. Literally. The only sad thing is that I found out a bunch of "web designers and blog designers" charging even $10 for doing this!!! Com'on people, let's help each other out, isn't it easier to just put the instructions on your blog? Sigh...

Other minor changes and tweaks I did was remove my Polyvore badge. And of course now this lady here's making me wanna go back to being majorly hooked there. We'll see. I ~~am running out of synonyms for~~ also, joined a community called Blogs by Latinas, it's a directory of blogs, by female Latin writers. AWESOMENESS. I added the button to my blog as well, and not to be redundant, but I also created it. I strongly recommend browsing through there, and if you fit the profile, join!

And now, to what really matters the most....YOU GUYS! I updated my blog roll. Now, if for some reason, I erased someone, and you'd like to be added back. LET ME KNOW. If you are not there, but you'd like to be, LET ME KNOW. If you are on the list, but you wished to be removed, LET ME KNOW [hey! you never know].

What am I wearing?

I don't know if you can tell, but these are
the shoes that I'm wearing.

This was my outfit for Black Friday. As you can see, I'm really embracing the sequins trend. I got many, MANY compliments that day. Especially a LOT of ~~people~~ women asking me where I had gotten my clothes/shoes/accessories [I'm ~~already~~ kinda used to it, by now].

The top ($35) has sequins all over in the front, and is plain black on the back. I paired it with black leggings and my brand new heels that I debuted that day. I also wore my big, black flower ring. I'm becoming a bit obsessed with rings lately. Especially big ones. Has anyone seen the new YSL rings?? Ok.. that's another post.

PS: I'm glad that you guys liked the ring!!! As you can see I do too.

So on to the actual post, I was given two awards recently. YAY!! I've still got it.. lol kidding. My super bloggity friend anastasia b. gave me this award, she's such a giver!!! I seriously love her, and would love to meet her [hi there, I just creeped you out] because we have tons of things in common, and we're both extremely hot Puerto Rican beauties [I'm also very humble]. What am I wearing?

This was all ages ago [November 18]. Better get rid of all these posts where I'm wearing boots and such before summer hits, huh? This was just an outfit for work. That's actually one of my favorite dresses EVER and I barely wear it. Actually I had worn it only once before, and it was for Thanksgiving dinner 2008 on the Queen Mary ship.

Dress, Guess [from '08 Fall collection]. White leggings, black OTK boots, my flower ring that I looove, straight hair and Revlon nail polish in steel-her heart.
