I'm Here...

This is a long, overdue post, and a very hard one to write, actually. But I'm here, in Puerto Rico, home.

I took an unplanned, blogging vacation and I'm really sorry for not letting anyone know, but like I said it was  unplanned. It sort of just happened. I suddenly only had a few weeks left in LA to pack, do a million errands and most importantly spend precious time with my honey.

I wish I could express how I feel, but basically it's as if I were hot and cold at the same time. I've never had such mixed feelings about anything in my life. I'm happy to be home and see my family but OMG so sad borderline depressed that I'm not with my boyfriend and that twe're 3,000 miles apart.

The question in everyone's mind must be WHY? And the answer is ... I made the decision of going back to school.  Hardest decision that I've made so far, but I stick to it. I want to say that I left a piece of my heart in LA, but I would be lying I left my heart there. The whole thing.

Enough of that, or I'm gonna turn into a big ball of tears. Good news is that I'm here, I have internet YAY!!! And I'm blogging.

Before leaving, I had made some changes and tweaks here and there on the blog and I'll talk a bit about that on another post.

Expect full-on blogging from June on.

PS: From my last post, you guys were right. I got extensions, thanks for all the compliments. Wait till you see my new look.

Easter Day

To be fully honest, I'm just trying to be in the spirit of the holiday, because I made a promise not to be a grinch about holidays this year. In reality, I'm in the worst mood ever, not one bit happy, and really worried about a lot of things. Different things I won't even talk about. Let's just say I was here for last Easter...

Saturday Images

Last week I didn't post my Saturday Images, despite having done the post. And this week, I really don't feel like using those pics anymore. Why? Well because I don't feel like that anymore.

Lately I've been really aching to go home. I need to feel the warm air, the sun rays heating me up, the sand below my feet and  the smell of the beach. I need to be home. I need to stare at the ocean. Those of you who follow me on twitter, might have seen my tweet about this already. Well... it's still on my mind.

I'm sorry for my very untoned body, but frankly, at this point I don't care. All of these were taken last year during our trip to Puerto Rico.This is one of my favorite beaches, EVER! It's just breathtaking being there.

Rain

I'm not liking the weather here in Long Beach!!! And not only the weather is crazy cold, but they have also closed all the lanes that I use. So now I have to use my GPS to get to work... me does not like this. Also, I HAVE A RUNNY NOSE thankyouverymuch. I give to you, rain...

I wished I looked like this, or at least I demand one of those umbrellas.

Have you ever kissed in the rain?? Like when it's pouring? I have! Amazing, just amazing.

Well, there you go loveys, happy pictures about something that def DOES not make me happy. That is so un-me. JA! I've been saying that a lot today. Anywhoz, I find it interesting that I do not own rain boots. You might be wondering why, since it usually doesn't rain in LA. And I wouldn't buy rain boots if I lived here, I mean what's the chance that you're gonna use them maybe 4 days of the year??? Wth.

However, in Puerto Rico, particularly in Mayaguez where I was born and raised NO ONE has rain boots. Just to quote some info I found about the city, it has "heavy rain from May to November" which is code for it rains EVERY.SINGLE.DAY at least once. Now, for the months of December- April it might just rain once every other day, and that is if you're lucky. And there we are walking around on sandals and stuff like that. I know no one wears boots in Puerto Rico cause that'd be ridic, but still...

RIP Plaid Shirt

*Crying*

I really don't even know how to start, I feel so sad. My favorite shirt has passed away. Last time I wore it quite a while ago, [I've been avoiding the subject] I noticed it had -gasp- a hole. Yes, a hole!! a tiny lil' hole that no doubt will get bigger even if I wash it. I decided that I will give it away, not throw it out because you practically can't even see the hole, but I know it is there and I don't feel like wearing it like that. So, let's all please have a moment of silence and remember my favorite plaid shirt.

August Chronicles Part I

So this is was Monday, August 3rd. I mean it is just the beginning of the month and it is already letting me now it is NOT my month.

So I had a few errands to do.. blah blah, I got up VERY EARLY IN THE MORNING, I'm not a morning person, but fine, whatever. I got dressed, took a couple of pictures to post them on my blog, as usual.

 

Can you see, I'm even wearing a new bracelet, that I had custom made, but that's a whole other post. Well, I had just washed my hair, and when I went down the elevator, I let it down...and HORROR!!! Look what happened...

 

IT GOT ALL WET!!!! I was kinda just in time for my appointment, and this obviously looked horrendous [is this a word?] I keep asking that, I know, I'm nuts. Anyhow, I ran back up and wore this...

 

Boring I know, but hey I was in a hurry. After my appointment, I went to Walgreens, and all I kept telling myself was "Ambar, you CANNOT buy anything, other than what you need". So I went straight to the pharmacy counter, avoiding altogether all those tempting aisles filled with mags and makeup and nail polish.

So the pharmacist asks "Are you waiting for this?, Because is gonna be like 15 minutes". Panic started to take over, I mean 15 minutes to wander alone in Walgreens, and not being able to go over to the tempting aisles, what's a girl supposed to do?

I considered sitting down in the little waiting area, but I'm not a let's-sit-down-and-wait-kind-of-girl. So I went over to the safe aisles, you now, back to shool, toothbrushes and dental floss, Hallmark, that kinda stuff. And lucky me, look what I found, and all this goodies for less than $10. Please don't hate me that much.

 

I actually needed to buy two of these things: I was on a toothbrush hunt and I found 6, plus the paste and a the holder thingy for $5; also I needed to buy the wipes because as you can see here I was out of them. Now.... the tiny post-its, it was love at first sight. I'm a post-it whore and I can't go a day without scribbling something in one and posting it somewehere, usually in my own desk. This cuties were like 50 cents each! The Hallmark assortment for this cards is not too relevant, I mean, dogs + flowers? Really? But again, I couldn't resist the bargain, and I already sent out two [I love snail mail].

I went back home and TA-DA!... I had a package [obviously from my parents, love you guys!] and it was filled with FOOD. Yes, food from Puerto Rico that I've been craving FOREVER [I also have been begging them to send me some].

 

I mean, am I lucky or what? Guava paste, BREAD!!!! Oh Lord. Here are some pictures of me enjoying my food. Thanks folks, really! This definitely made my day.
