At The Fleas - Part III: The Surprise

This is how the previous post of this series ended.
...I saw the coins I wanted to get my dad, I asked for them, the sales guy handed them to me, and just as this happened, I SPOTTED ONE OF MY FAVORITE CELEBRITIES IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD standing there a mere two feet away, also looking at the coins. I died. Came back to life, took pictures...

Ok, so without further ado [because I know all of you are dying to know, right, RIGHT???], I saw Robi Draco Rosa. For those of you who have been living under a fugly rock don't know who he is, prepared to be dazzled [and NOT by Rob Pattz].

The story: So, as I stood there seriously pondering if this was actually him, I say to my bf, [exact words] "ese tipo se parece a Robi" which means that guy looks like Robi. He looked and then he looked back at me like OMG, YES! I really don't know what happened next in detail, all I know is that I was holding on to him for dear life taking a picture with him, arms wrapped around him, still don't know why. He is so tall! OMG and his skin, and his face, his look, his eyes, OMG. So, I took my picture, thanked him, and let him go, SADLY. I asked the honey if he wanted a picture, he said no, then he was like " I should, cause then I will regret it". So we went back, stalked him a little bit, took another pic. He is the NICEST, super humble, he wasn't bothered at all, it was like we were just good 'ol friends that ran into each other. I'm in love! Even more than I was before! You can read his bio here.

The irony: The night before our flea market adventure we were on his webpage!!! I mean this is how much we love this guy and his music. We were on phantomvox looking to see if he was on tour or not. Aaaaaand on our way there we had the iPod on shuffle, and like 4 of his songs came up, and we were just talking and talking about him. So imagine my surprise when I saw him standing right in front of me. O M G.

This was how I was talking after that: OMG OMG OMG Robi. OMG OMG OMG Robi, OMG Robi, OMG...

This is the video of one of my favorite songs from him, this one is in spanish.

This next one is in english. Yea, he sings, composes and rocks in both languages! That's kinda what happens when you're Puerto Rican. Jajaja

If you liked that one, I reaaally recommend watching this one. This album of his[Mad Love] is really romantic, and it has songs that are full of meaning and they really make you think. OMG I love him.

Here, I made a little playlist of my favorite Robi songs [in no particular order]. Enjoy.

Amantes Hasta el Fin
Cruzando Puertas
Penelope
Vagabundo
Como Me Acuerdo
Cuando Pasara
Y que me Importa
Almas Diferentes/Almas Gemelas
Frio

There you have it, I hope you're all dazzled by now. Love you guys!! XOXO

At The Fleas - Part II: The Finds

First of all, PLEASE don't kill me for taking FOR-friking-EVER writing this sequel post. I know I promised you here, on the first one (At The Fleas - Part I: The Adventure), that this was "coming soon". Well, umm good luck with that.

Soooo, since it's been almost a month, you've seen me wear some of my amazing, thrifted finds already, but nonetheless, here are the pictures. Also, let's remember that I had just $60 for the whole thing, you know, entrance tickets, food, etc. Aaaand what I was looking for to buy was blazers, belts, and baubles [jewelry, etc]. This was referred to as the Triple B. How amazing am I??

These were the first two items that I bought. They were $7 each. I was obviously attracted to their largeness, and of course the huge pocket of the striped shirt. The London shirt is from Urban Outfitters and I got it for just seven bucks!!! Ahh blissness. I wore that one already, details here.

I am such a liar! I just remembered that the first items I bought were two pairs of earrings! Aghh I'm crazy. So, I took some pics a while ago and they suck! [reason why this post took 4ev]. But I will show them to you. I have a new-found respect for jewelry photographers, the suckers are impossible!!!

I really don't recommend enlarging these.

These beauties were $2 each. YAY! Those gold/pearly ones are to die for! They look so glamorous. I really want to wear them. [Aheem, somebody invite me somewhere nice, ok bye]. That was pretty much it, until I saw a belt tent. A huge one at that, too. Here are the five belts I bought, ALL of them for $10 [so, $2 each avg].

Aheem

I love each and every single one of these belts. I wore the coral one here and cannot wait to wear all of them! Moving on, I believe that the next thing we bought were our amazing Mexican, margarita cups. Which we've graced with some tequila sunrise amazingness inside.

You probably can't see, but they have a Mexican
dude resting against a cactus.
[I was thoroughly cleaning them
in boiling water and Clorox].

[Note that I have on the striped shirt, LOL]

The honey and I split the cost of the cups, I believe they were $10 or maybe it was $12. Whatevs. In this same "shop" we fell in love with a pin. But we thought it was a bit overpriced and left. Then we couldn't stop talking/thinking about it, so we returned and hustled the eff asked politely for a bargain. We got it! Here it is. I feel like it is something historical, and I can't wait to show it to my kids. Wait, I don't have any of those...

This was also quite hard to photograph.

The pin, I think went from $20 to like $14. After that I got my long necklaces, that I couldn't properly photograph for the love of me. But you've seen them, so I will gladly direct you there. Also, I bought my red headband, which you've also seen. I wore them this time along with the headband [seen below] and I wore one of them this other time. They are made out of leather and chain, and were $4 each.

Look what I did with some of my finds.

I put the earrings in the bottom. JA!

Anywhozers, last but not least, the cents. Why the reverence? You'll see. When we first went in, we saw a huge tent that sold coins. Tons and tons of collectible coins. My dad's a huge fan, and his b-day was coming up, so I made a mental note [thank GOD] of coming back and check them out properly. At the very end of our adventure, we went back. I saw the coins I wanted to get my dad, I asked for them, the sales guy handed them to me, and just as this happened, I SPOTTED ONE OF MY FAVORITE CELEBRITIES IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD standing there a mere two feet away, also looking at the coins. I died. Came back to life, took pictures, and will tell you all about it on another post....

The infamous coins.

At The Fleas - Part I: The Adventure

First of all, by fleas I mean flea market. Second, it was my very first time so bare with the excitement. Third, this post is PICTURE HEAVY!

OMG!!! I want to go every single month, it was soooo amazing. Ok, calming down now... The honey and I went to the Rose Bowl Flea Market, we got up at 5:00 am thank you very much, in order to be there on time, to avoid chaos. On our way there we stopped at Starbucks [check out the cool pic of me holding the cup].

We got there early, at 7:30 and decided to buy the tickets for 8:00 am [The prices change depending on the time. The earlier it is, the more expensive they are.] because there was already a little line and they were only $2 cheaper than the 9:00 am ones.

So, we went in at 8, which doesn't make that much sense cause vendors officially "open" at 9 am, but whatevs. Being our very first time EVER thrift shopping, we just wanted to see what it was like. Ok, by we, I completely mean ME. Two seconds in and I was in love! I mean so many little different, UNIQUE things and hello! the prices. Ok, but enough about that, because all of my amazing new items are coming on a different post. This one is all about the adventure.

Ok, so adventure #1- I was looking at some seriously fabulous headbands, that looked reaaally familiar...of course!!! It's from one of my favorite etsy shops, Bedford Falls. Sweet Abigail was nice enough to take a picture with me after I stalked asked her. Make sure you check out her etsy shop.

Isn't she gorgeous??? And look at her beautiful, handmade pieces. I'm in love. Period. Moving on to adventure #2 - I bought a really cute headpiece, you know the kind you wear across the forehead [you'll see it on my next post] and then stalked asked the friendly lady, Kendra, for a picture too, because well, I'm weird.

She was actually nice enough to try and pronounce the honey's name correctly, which is virtually impossible like the first 30 times you try it. Kendra actually designs tees and does custom logos and that sort of thing. How cool ah?

What Am I Wearing??

Black top from Heavenly Couture, Navy top from F21, this is the one I got this time. The gray sweater from Ponme. Jeans from F21 as well, gold sandals from Steve Madden, hat from Valija Gitana, bag from Target.
