I think I mentioned it all, right? If not, just leave me a comment, and I'll tell you what it is/where to get it etc. I would love to review all items here, but seriously this might end up being longer than The Bible. So, for now, just know that I spent a lot of money bought all these products, I love some of them, hate some others and I will be blogging about them all.. oh yea and with pictures too.

PS: That day I also purchased these two products, and  have been using them since. My skin is definitely more clear.

Avatar...The Experience

I don't even know where to start. The story, the effects, the everything!! This movie WAS beyond amazing. Definitely exceeded expectations. It's perfect. I think it has something for adults, men, kids [by adults I mean women and by men, older kids]. It's romantic, yet still action packed. I loved it!!!!! It was definitely worth the $30+ that it cost to see it on Imax 3D and whatnot. The bond with nature, the respect, OMG. Their culture, fascinating. I also loved how she flew the thing [picture #4].

I'm not a fan of owning movies, but this one, I want it.

PS: I saw Up in the Air and it DOES NOT stand a chance against this one. I'm even surprised it got nominated for a Golden Globe. Speaking of, I can't wait for the Academy nominations to go public.

PPS: New poll up, please vote!!!! =)

Jenny G Stop Staring Trunk Show

Again, just like ALL my other "recent" posts, this event was ages ago. Ok, maybe at the beginning of November, or something.

This is one of my favorite stores, in my favorite place ever, Belmont Shore [aka 2nd st.]. They had a trunk show, and they invited me [gave me a flyer] when I stopped by to lookie look at the store. I went in to see if I could find something for my mom, but they didn't have it, still I got the amazing flyer [talk about irony huh?] and harassed asked the honey to accompany me, and he did.

I felt sort of weird at first because we didn't know anybody, and also cause it was a fashiony thing, and the poor honey was just there kinda doing nothing. LOL. But they had amazing food, drinks, and they treated us like long time friends. The event was a full success. I loved it, I actually bought my NYE dress that day. Yes, I've had it for THAT long. And I got all those goodies you see up there FOR FREE. Well, they were free after I payed for the dress, but still. I had never gotten so many goodies at once, swear.

Also, the team of girls working there is just amazing. They were the first ones to send me a bday card, with a discount to use in the month of December and everything. Sigh... LOVE.

PS: This is what I wore that day, with the heels, and without that cream, short sleeve cardi thing. Aaaaand different accessories.

PPS: This is their website, and their twitter, check them out, I'm telling you, they're ah-ma-ZING!

The Body Shop

Ok, by now you all know how I have these little addictions, ok obsessions, just don't tell anyone, OK? One of the biggest ones is The Body Shop. I love that store! Right now most of my beauty products are theirs, and I couldn't be happier. So why keep all this happiness to myself, right?

Now, where should I start, their body products, their skin lines, the twitter updates, the amazing deals [you have no idea how many free stuff I've gotten from them]... Oh well, I guess I'll start on what brought me there the very first time.

HOME

I was walking around Belmont Shore [to find out more click here] for the first time, and suddenly I smelled something completely amazing, it was something I just had to know where it came from, so I followed the scent. Next thing I know, I'm inside the body shop asking a very nice lady what was the smell. She told me it was one of their home fragance oils and that it was a mix of coconut with a hint of apple. And yes, you guessed it, that's exactly how my room smells even to this day.

BODY

That was the very same day that I bought the Seaweed beauty products, and Olive body butter to try them out [I was in a little buying frenzy, but it turned out good]. The body butter, I remember I actually bought it for the honey, the lady in the store said it was one of the only ones that didn't smell girly and I was looking for a lotion for him, so why not give it a shot right? It turned out that he didn't like it [he still thought it smelled girly, lol], LUCKY ME!, because I started using it, and I cannot live without it!

You know how I mentioned that these people have amazing deals! Specially online I've noticed. You know one of those, buy one get one free, plus free shipping after so much, and free item with this and that purchase... Well they always have promos like these going on, and they all apply together at the same time. For example, you buy something, get the next item for half price, plus free shipping and a FREE item. The very first free item I chose was a shower gel, and of course I got the Olive Shower Gel. Now, in my opinion it doesn't smell as good as the body butter, but it still leaves the skin feeling soft and smooth. I only use it when I want to smell just like olives, and after showering I apply the body butter all over, instead of just my legs.

FACE

The Seaweed products that I've tried and have been using are the Deep Cleansing Facial Wash, Seaweed Pore-Cleansing Facial Exfoliator, Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream, Seaweed Mattifying Moisture Lotion SPF 15, Seaweed Clarifying Toner, and Seaweed Clarifying Night Treatment. I usually use the exfoliator in the mornings with one of the mattifying mousturizers, then just apply makeup as usual. For my night routine, I use the facial wash, then toner, plus the night cream. Did I also mention they smell great! That's one of the things I love most about them [of course, besides their prices!], that it helps your skin but it doesn't smell like detergent [*cough* Proactiv *cough*]

Now, the seaweed collection has its own mask, but I bought this one instead, Warming Mineral Mask, and I think it acts like magic! You don't have to heat it up or anything, it just comes out warm right out of the tube, and the smell.. OMG!!! It also, leaves my skin feeling so soft, that putting on makeup afterwards should be illegal.

HAIR

So The Body Shop products are working for my face and body, why not try it for my hair? As you can see I'm a very loyal customer, and I'm not just saying that, if I like something, I will stick with it, and try more stuff to see if that also works. So I gave the hair products a shot, and so far, excellent.

My hair is oily on top and dry at the ends, so it's really hard to find shampoo/conditioner combos to work those two things at the same time. So I tried Nettle Oil Balance Shampoo and Olive Glossing Conditioner and obviously I do that old trick where you just shampoo on top and condition the ends and it works wonders! For my little spa days, I use this mask, Brazil Nut Moisture Mask, and leave it on for hours, your hair will thank you! The smell also lasts for days.

Here are a few pictures of my products [see how many they are?] Don't forget to follow them on Twitter @thebodyshopusa

Ricardo Arjona's Concert

I don't know how many of you are familiar with his work [because he only sings in Spanish that is]. But he is an amazing artist!!! I fell even more in love with him during the concert. I also think that this was the best concert I've been to in my whole life!!! [I love concerts, therefore I've been to more than a handful]. This is his official page - Ricardo Arjona.

Ricardo was just spectacular, he sang ALL the time [a good 2 hrs.], no lip-syncing, he never took a break, plus he played piano and guitar. This was SO WORTH THE MONEY!!! They even had to open an extra function.

Oh, I'm so glad I saw that billboard on the I-110 a couple months ago.. *sigh*

Here is a picture, I took a few more, but due to the light, or lack of it actually, well, everything looked black!

That's him when he appeared on stage. Speaking of the stage, it was amazing!!! It was resembling a building with a "5th floor" which is the name of the tour. His musicians were also amazing! Oh, everything was just perfect!

You can go here for all the details of what I wore, and which hot celebrity I saw at the end.

Item of the Week

Eye Shadow for Dummies

I love makeup, again, who doesn't? Thing is I'm not an expert at the whole applying process. Which is the reason I always sport the natural look, you know a bit of foundation, some lip balm, mascara and blush. There's proof here that I don't wear eye shadow.  Although, I admit I do love how it looks on me, and I always feel instantly glam when I wear it.

Story is that I was just flicking through a mag and I saw this: Maybelline Expert Wear Eye Shadow Quads.

I thought, I love this!! I mean, it's perfect! I can do the smokey eye thing, YAY! So I went to Walgreens, of course, and there they were on a pretty display and everything just waiting for me. I purchased the Emerald Smokes (the green instead of the purple). They also had an actual, black one, but I think that is too dangerous for me, at least for now.
Why do I love this so much? Well, as you can see on the picture above, each of the shadows tells you where it goes! They say: lid, crease, brow bone, and outer corner. After a few uses, I'm pretty sure you won't be able to see them, but I'm pretty sure you will have it all mastered by then.
Here's the ad with the black tones.

I'm loving ads lately, aren't I? Anyways, here are some pics of me wearing the eyeshadow, for the very first time. I'm wondering why nobody had done this before. I would be a pro by now. Well done Maybelline!

Pics thaken at 7:00 AM. Yes, I got up at 6 in the morning so that I could do my makeup for my photo shoot. I guess you can call this a sneak peek.

All PR Welcome !!!

As some of you already know I love trying new things, [I mean who doesn't?] and then of course blog about them! Well I found very interesting blogs, Feels Like Home and Adrienne's House, who are giving a chance to new bloggers, [or maybe not so new] to meet with PR professionals, isn't that GREAT!!!

Spotlight

I have already tried reviewing products, and some of my movie reviews have been published on the web [ok, it was only one, but it sounds fancy]. I have a list of a few more products that I already tried [you don't have to thank me for the sacrifice] and I'm telling YOU all about them this month!!

I am always interested in trying very different things, from new clothes, to wine, food, coffees, etc. Although, most of the products I blog about are makeup, nail polish, lotions, shower gels; just beauty products in general. Afterall, Ambar's Thoughts is a place where you can find the latest fashion trends, or at least the ones I'm really into at the moment; What am I Wearing, [and where is it from], amd which models and designers I'm absolutely in love with!

PS: I would also love to review magazines, I mean there are just sooo many good ones out there!! UGH I want them all!!

My e-mail is on the left sidebar of my blog, but just in case, you can contact me here ambarblah@gmail.com

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Movie Review

I went to see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince on the premier night. I got there around 9:00 pm and it was already FULL! They were showing the movies in 3 or 4 different theaters and all of them had extremely long lines.

As usual there were a lot of kids, and some adults I might add, dressed as their favorite characters. Obviously a lot of little Harry Potters and Hermiones, but it surprised me to see some people wearing what seemed to be Slytherin robes.

The film did not disappoint me, but it didn’t precisely exceed my expectations. I am a true fan, I love Harry Potter, I’ve read all the books etc, but I think they left out major parts. For example the title of the movie is the half blood prince and it is for a reason. They barely touch that subject in the movie. I think too, that it might be really confusing for people who haven't read the book.

I did feel, however, that it is a tad bit funnier than the rest of the saga, and creepier at the same time. It has scenes, actually two different scenes that can make you think you are watching a horror movie.

As for Harry Potter, he looks extremely handsome for this 6th movie. However, he is really young, I think he might look better in 5 or 6 years when he is actually grown into a man. Also, I’m still wondering why does Draco wear a suit throughout the whole movie? I mean what’s the deal? Don’t they have uniforms?

Did you see the movie? What do you think? I want to hear your comments!
